EVENT: Poetic Temple x The river called Time - The Africa Centre

After a rebel rousing evening jam packed with soul stirring moments. Open micers, Live Art, Music and Cheza Roho! We return with the best of UK's vocalists;
Teshay Makeda is a Boisdale award-winning Roots Soul artist from South London, known for her powerful vocals, uplifting lyrics, and healing presence. Blending reggae, soul, and spirituality, she weaves stories of movement, empowerment, and the African diaspora through the Caribbean.

As an international performer, Teshay has graced stages across the UK, Europe, and the Caribbean, sharing her unique sound rooted in her Jamaican heritage and Rastafarian upbringing. With support from the PRS Sustaining Creativity Fund, she released her acclaimed 8-track EP ‘Omega Mother Goddess’, an exploration of the Roots and Soul of the Divine Feminine.

Her upcoming project, ‘Throat Chakra’, is a deeply vulnerable expression of finding strength in her voice through challenging times. Its lead single, ‘MOVEiN’, releasing in 2025, is a UK reggae dance-style anthem celebrating movement, resilience, and purpose
