Jade is a printmaker/illustrator based in South East London. Her prints are often centred on literature, landscapes & her Chinese / English background.
Jade is an artist exploring her identity like many others, she searches for a place of home in the environments she draws, utilising the techniques of two cultures that have gone before her. She tried to inter-weave her English and Chinese heritage by combining their traditional printing styles in her own.
In this project, she is exploring the troubling mass extinction facing our wildlife in recent years, animals once thought common, in our lifetime have become increasingly rare. However, with environmental efforts these effects can be reversed. She has tried to highlight this issue in her work through photopolymer etching and different presentation techniques to show the special nature of these animals and the absence of their presence in our current landscapes.
